Aperture to Tumblr · FAQ

I updated to the newest version but export doesn't work

Please download the most recent version.

Remove the "TumblrExport" file from the folders:

  • /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/Export/
  • /Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/Export/

Install the new version again. Restart Aperture and it should work again.

My license key doesn't seem to be accepted.

  • Please check if there's an empty space before or after email, key or code.
  • If you used copy and paste to enter your key, try deleting all text in the three fields (use Command-A and then backspace) and re-enter your email, key and code manually. Sometimes there is an issue when copying text from the confirmation email.

How do I export an image to Tumblr?

Right click on an image, select "export", select "TumblrExport".

I've got my licence, where to use?

Select "TumblrExport" and open the "Registration" tab. Enter email, key and code.

How do I post an image?

Select "TumblrExport". Enter your Tumblr E-Mail (login) and Password. Click Export.

In case you're using the free version of Aperture2Tumblr you're not able to enter a custom message within your post. A link to this page will be posted instead.

How do I reset the plugin's preferences?

Open terminal and write

defaults delete com.apple.Aperture Prefs1.0

I upgraded from an old version and the plugin seems not to be working!

Please reset the plugin's settings. Open terminal and run the following command:

defaults delete com.apple.Aperture Prefs1.0

After that you have to enter your Tumblr account and registration credentials again.

How to remove the plugin

Go to Aperture's plugin folder ...

open ~/Library/Application\ Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins/Export

... and delete "TumblrExport.ApertureExport"
